Masters Training is for experienced skiers who are looking to become faster, stronger and more efficient in both classic and skate-skiing techniques. There will be four Kawartha Nordic Masters Training sessions this year.
The four training sessions will take place on Monday nights in January with a focus on technique improvement in classic and skate skiing. Each technique session costs $25 for members of Kawartha Nordic or $40 for non-members. There is a cap of 12 skiers per session. Registration for the technique sessions is done online through Zone4.
There will also be a Tuesday Night Lights workout each week in January and February. This is an opportunity for Masters skiers to train with others in a weekly ski workout each Tuesday night at Kawartha Nordic from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. There is no charge for this session and no registration needed. The coach will post the workout in the WoodFine Cabin each week. Tuesday Night Lights will run as an optional, come-for-a-Nordic-workout-and-socialize-afterwards. Following each workout a brief social gathering will take place in Lakefield at the Canoe and Paddle restaurant.
Hopefully there will be a group of Kawartha Nordic Masters who will participate in the Muskoka Loppet in Huntsville on January 22, 2017 and at the Fischer Loppet at Hardwood Ski & Bike on March 4, 2017.
