Why Carpool to Kawartha Nordic
Nordic skiing is a passive recreational activity but getting to and from Kawartha Nordic is a significant part of our carbon footprint. To help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and our carbon footprint, Kawartha Nordic has setup a pilot carpooling website to help faciliate carpools to and from the club. This will also help alleviate pressure on the parking lot which can get very busy on weekends.

How it works
The carpool site is for use by KNSC members only and requires a password to access. Please check your email newsletter for the password (or contact us at membership@kawarthanordic.ca) to use the site.
The site is a contact network, so the actual connections are made independently by individuals. The information you enter (name, email, optional phone and address info) is shared with any other member accessing the site.
If you are a DRIVER offering space in your car, register your date and time of departure/return as well as the number of seats available in your vehicle. The site will notify you by email of the name of anyone looking for a ride with you, and that person will then contact you themselves by phone or email to confirm details. We suggest you simply list an area of town (example: East City) rather than your exact address on the site, and arrange particulars regarding pick up with the individual rider, much like on Facebook Marketplace!
If you are a RIDER you can join a car listed on the site (or join the waitlist if no cars are registered), and the driver will be notified of your name and that you wish to have a ride. It is then your responsibility to contact the driver directly through their email or phone. The site does not automatically connect you. Once you have contacted the driver, your ride details will be confirmed by the driver.
