School Groups
Cross country skiing is an excellent way to get outside with your class to enjoy winter and the fabulous facilities available at Kawartha Nordic. It is a relatively low cost component of an active healthy lifestyle, and is an easy skill to learn and enjoy for a lifetime.
Kawartha Nordic offers a large accessible chalet, rental equipment, over 50km of immaculately groomed ski trails and approximately 8km snowshoe trails, welcoming staff, and knowledgeable instructors.
It is important to let us know when your school would like to use our trails to ensure we have sufficient rentals and instructors on hand. Click on the 'Book Online' buttons below to find available dates on the booking calendar.
We have an adequate supply of ski equipment for rent for skiers of all sizes. Skate skis are not included in the school rentals. School groups are offered a complete set of equipment (boots, skis and poles) at a cost per student. We can equip a group of 25-30 students in any grade starting from grades 4 to 12. All equipment needs to be returned before departure.
We encourage teachers and participating adult volunteers and therefore do not charge extra for them.
Cross country skiing is accessible to all students regardless of fitness or energy levels, and helps to develop and maintain coordination and balance as well as being a great way to burn calories.
