Kawartha Nordic has grown tremendously over the last 50 years into a wonderful regional nordic ski centre and club. Our community enjoys nordic skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking on 65 km of meticulously groomed trails through a scenic wilderness landscape complemented by inspiring youth and school programs, race team, and events. It’s truly a magical winter experience.
This campaign is designed to support our next 50 years by building 2 new buildings to replace temporary structures that are no longer meeting our community’s needs.
The first building is a new rental shop and program space to replace the temporary trailers. This will provide a welcoming environment to accommodate visitors buying passes, trying on rental equipment, checking in on trail conditions and information and to provide space for programs and events without crowding the existing day chalet.
The second building is to replace the temporary sheds with a proper driveshed to store grooming equipment out of the elements in a heated space with a workshop and proper concrete floor. This will modernize the maintenance and repair of our grooming equipment, extend equipment lifespan, and better support grooming staff.
