Athlete Development
The Athlete Development Program (ADP) offers training experiences for athletes led by certified Nordic Ski coaches. ADP has three programs: Learn to Train (L2T); Junior Development; and, Junior Racing. Each program offers a Nordic ski training opportunity for those interested in pursuing or exploring high performance ski racing, skiing for fitness and skill development, or wanting more time on snow to ski with peers.
ADP is a training program for youth aged 10 through 18. Based on year of birth, youth train together to prepare for classic and/or skate ski races. There is a racing element to this training program. There are also elements of outdoor, healthy, active recreation, social interaction, and community building among Nordic skiers.
ADP L2T targets Midget age youth (birth years 2005 & 2006) whereas ADP Junior Racing and ADP Junior Development target Juvenile age youth (birth years 2004 & 2003), and Junior age youth (birth years 2002 & 2001).
A mandatory practice wax kit must be purchased as part of the ADP program (cost $40).
Please note that participants in ADP must be registered as members in Kawartha Nordic. The membership costs are not included in the program rates below. Please see the Rates page for more information.
