We have a good, solid (albeit icy) base on the trails and will re-open with a small amount of new snow. Forecast looks good this week. Keep up the snow dance. The stadium in front of the Woodfine chalet (as shown on the webcam) is bare but as shown in these photos the trails have a solid, icy base that will allow us to re-open soon

New this year every Kawartha Nordic member can access one free trail pass at Haliburton Nordic. Members from Haliburton Nordic have the same reciprocal benefit at Kawartha Nordic. This exchange program is intended to enhance cooperation and awareness between our two regional clubs. Since Haliburton Nordic operates self-serve kiosks at each of their 4 trail systems, please write "KNSC + your name and Member ID" on the self serve registration slip. Enjoy!
Space is still available in the Kawartha Winter Adventure Challenge (KWAC). KWAC is a recreational ski program for experienced skiers aged 13 through 18. Participants have a good base of nordic ski skills that allow them to come together and take part in a ski session that involves a little bit of instruction followed by a social ski tour to various destinations at Kawartha Nordic Ski Club or other Nordic ski sites.

This two-day event, offers the chance for skiers of all ages to see what cross country ski racing is all about, and we are hoping you and your family will come as spectators, volunteers or racers.
While this is an Ontario Championships, for many of the athletes this will be their first ski race, and as such is structured to be a fun and easy-going event. There will be classic and skate ski races in both individual and team relay formats.
We encourage all male skiers born in 2001–2006, female skiers born in 2002–2006 and paranordic skiers born in 2000–2006 that are members of a Canadian nordic ski club to signup and race.
