Youth Programs

Despite the warm and sunny days, we are already gearing up to plan our Youth Programs for next year!

Thanks to the many volunteers we had for 2021-22 we ran a full program of classes for over 125 athletes – Bunny Rabbits, Jackrabbits, Racing Rabbits and Track Attack. To implement these classes, we hired a part-time program coordinator and 4 lead coaches. The other positions required to run these programs were filled by volunteer coaches - members like you.

We are exploring ideas for the youth programs for next year, but first we need to ensure that there will be enough volunteers to help coach. If you are able to help out with some or all of the season, please let us know by clicking HERE  and choose a volunteer option that best works for you. This way, we can begin to plan for a fantastic season ahead.

Trail Work

The derecho storm that struck in May, as well as other severe storms that ensued throughout this summer, left their mark across Ontario. Kawartha Nordic was not spared. We have been able to have the fallen trees moved off the trails, but much debris still remains. We have set up some chores and dates and are looking for volunteers to help clean up the trails and prepare firewood for the coming ski season.

There are a few loppers, clippers and axes onsite at KN, or bring your own if you can.

Please click HERE to access the KN volunteer program. There you will find the options that are available to you for this falls Trail Work.

Warning, there will be gentle Canid leg traps set along some of KN trails. A map outside the Rental trailer will show the trap locations. Please keep your pets on leash.

We would love to have you as part of the Kawartha Nordic volunteer team!
