Shuffle Your Skis: The Kawartha Nordic Poker Run!
We're going to postpone this event as it's looking a bit polar-votex-like for Sunday. Look for a new date announcement.
Looking for a little extra "stakes" on your next ski? Join us on Sunday February 22nd for our first Kawartha Nordic Poker Run—the event where your speed doesn’t matter, but your "poker face" definitely does!
How It Works:
It’s simple, social, and a total blast. Participants will head out onto the trails (ski or snowshoe—your choice!) and visit five designated "checkpoints" scattered throughout our beautiful trail system.
- Collect Your Hand: Go for a ski or snowshoe and take a selfie with each poker station we'll have set up along the trails.
- The Goal: To collect as many
unique selfies as you can.
- The Showdown: We’ll gather at the WOODfine lodge and you'll get a card for each station you stopped at. The best hands (and sometimes the "worst" ones!) win some fantastic local prizes!
The Details:
- Who Can Play? Everyone! Whether you’re a racer, a casual glider, or a first-time snowshoer, the Poker Run is about participation and luck, not lap times.
- Pick Your Path: You can choose your own route to hit the checkpoints, making it as long or as short a trek as you like.
- Post-Run Party: Stick around for some hot treats and the prize ceremony. It’s a great way to meet fellow club members and share trail stories.
Why Join?
Aside from the thrill of drawing an Ace in the middle of the woods, your entry fee goes directly back to the club. It helps us keep the PistenBully humming and the trails perfectly groomed for the rest of the season.
Gather your "suits," wax those skis, and let’s see who’s holding the winning hand this year!
Date: Sunday Feburary 22nd
Time: Course is open from 10-2. Get your map at the registration table after 10am. Cash your selfies in for cards at the Woodfine Chalet before 2pm. Prizes to follow.
Registration is limited.
