The board of directors unanimously voted to move the Annual General Meeting for the Kawartha Nordic Ski Club to the fall. The AGM will be held this year on September 13, 2010. The financial year end still remains as March 31st, and the fall AGM will allow the accountants more time to complete the audit. The fall date will coincide nicely with the start up of membership renewals, trail work, and program and volunteer planning for the upcoming season. All members will receive official notice of the AGM at least 10 days prior. Election of the directors will happen at the AGM as it has in the past. If you are interested in getting involved with the club, as a director, member of the executive or volunteer, please contact us.

The July newsletter (goto 'Our Club' then 'Newsletters') is now posted and contains an important message on membership fees. KNSC members received an email or mail invitation to participate in a survey. The survey is now closed and results will be posted shortly. Member feedback through the survey is important to help the board of directors understand how members feel about the quality and importance of what the club has to offer in terms of trails and services. Thank to you everyone that completed the survey.

Congratulations to all the Kawartha Nordic Athlete Development Program skiers who competed at the OFSAA Ski Championships last week in Midland. ADP skiers represented their high schools with athleticism and integrity. In the Junior Girls category, Stephaney Daley was our top placing skier at 33rd of 142. In the Junior Boys category, Adam Noble was our top placing skier at 25th of 153. In the Senior Girls category, Claire Menendez was our top placing skier at 62nd of 146. In the Senior Boys category, Lucas Shewen was our top placing skier at 20th of 162. In all, Kawartha Nordic supported 13 skiers who raced in these Ontario high school championships. Well done skiers. Full race results can be viewed at http://www.zone4.ca/results.asp?id=2850

A reminder to parents that there is no Jackrabbits or Track Attack scheduled for Saturday February 13th of the Family Long Weekend. We will resume our program on February 20th.

The Bennett Cabin ski that was planned for February 6th has been postponed due to the conditions on this wilderness trail. See the forums for more details or questions.

Ski conditions on the main trail system are great! (see the trail conditions page for recent pictures). Go out and ski!
