The draft strategic direction provides a roadmap for organizational planning and sets the priorities for the 2020-2025 time horizon. A number of potential initiatives for infrastructure improvement, staffing growth and climate change mitigation require significant investment of club resources in the form of money and volunteer time. The strategic plan priorities are rooted in the core values and principles that were created in the first stage in plan development.
Our strategic plan was developed by Kawartha Nordic (KN) in a process championed by the Board of Directors and a sub-committee throughout 2018 and 2019. A strategic directions survey was sent to all members in April/May 2018 asking for feedback on capital improvements, snowmaking and membership in Cross Country Canada. An external consultant was then engaged to facilitate the development of the strategic plan starting in Fall 2018. The process included five facilitated sessions, including the current Board, staff and some past Board members and volunteers. In December 2018 all members were invited to a brainstorming session on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. All members were consulted in February 2019 on the draft Vision, Mission, and Values and now we're looking for feedback from all members on the draft strategic plan including strategies and tactics.
Please review the placemat and the full strategic plan document posted on our website and provide your feedback to membership@kawarthanordic.ca by November 1. The strategic plan will be presented for endorsement to the membership at the Annual General Meeting on November 11. Thank you!
